The Sensual Skin Enhancer by Kevyn Aucoin is the actual name of this rather interesting makeup product. It is an all over complexion product that could easily become your personal magic wand. Keep reading to find out why consumers love it so much.
The Sensual Skin Enhancer by Kevyn Aucoin is a one of a kind product. Its original formula is greatly appreciated by makeup artists since it has the ability to conceal, cover, perfect, highlight and contour while remaining looking healthy on the skin. This foundation provides a natural finish and it is suitable for all skin types.
The foundation/concealer comes in 16 shades that are very well chosen by the brand. The shades are very realistic for different skin tones. The formula is long lasting, creamy but also sweat-proof. Also, it has jojoba oil in it, so be aware of that. The jojoba oil is actually amazing for the human skin in particular, but in case you are avoiding oil-based products, we feel the need to inform you about this.
This stuff is great. I am extremely pale and love the undertone options (I use the lightest neutral one). It’s a neat product because you can mix it with primer/lotion/etc. to thin it out. It’s perfect for events/nighttime. It lasts for a really long time, without setting spray or anything. The only trouble is mixing it to thin it out for day. It’s difficult to get it thinned well and I find sometimes it looks like a bit much for sunlight. Another great thing about it is that my skin loves it. I have super sensitive skin and can be pretty acne prone. I cut silicone a while ago from as many products as possible and noticed a huge improvement. This stuff doesn’t make me break out, go red, etc. Love!
The product was much nicer than I expected. It is creamy, yet does not seem to settle into lines. Took a little getting used to, I have to say. I mixed in a drop of oil and blended to ease application. I order color SX 06 and it is perfect. I’m older and my skin is certainly not one particular shade….. SX 06 was light enough for certain areas of my face, but dark enough for others. I’m huge Tarte fan, and this product is right up there in terms of texture, coverage, and color.

Conclusion | The Sensual Skin Enhancer by Kevyn Aucoin
The Sensual Skin Enhancer by Kevyn Aucoin. Amazing and original product indeed. As a makeup artist, the creator of Best Rated Beauty would confess this truly is a unique, must-have product. We find most of the makeup products to be versatile in general, so this combination of a foundation/concealer doesn’t surprise us. The unique formula on the other hand, does!
What we love about The Sensual Skin Enhancer by Kevyn Aucoin is the fact that it blends with the skin in the most flattering way. The tones of the product are spot on. You can use it for face, neck and decolletage. Now, the part were you actually try to apply it is what we need to discuss.
This product comes in a pot, so you might be thinking: “Is this really going to last? How do I even apply this?” Those are all legitimate questions. The product is very saturated with pigment and it comes in thick consistency, meaning you would need a tiny amount to start with. Depending on the use of it, you need to consider some options.
CONCEALER: Pick a bush that has synthetic bristles and is very small (detailer or eyeliner brush) and spot conceal where needed. In case you feel like you need to, blend the product in with your warm fingertips as well.
In case you want to conceal your under eyes, be patient with the product. It might not be best for that if you have very dry skin. Some people do find a way to use it this way, by mixing in oils like face oils derived from squalene, or any other oils you usually mix in your skin care. Use this technique when contouring as well. Later on, set the product with loose powder.
FOUNDATION: In general, you can achieve a light coverage by mixing this product with moisturisers and oils, depending on how thin you want it to be, or you can get a full dramatic coverage that is mostly well appreciated for special events. This is important for those of you with dry skin, since the product needs a bit of working with it to glide smoothly on the skin.
For oily skin, use it with a good primer that works best for you, so it can provide longevity for this product. The formula gives you a natural finish, so you have to build it up on areas that you feel you need it most. Also, set it with powder so it doesn’t fade away. This tends to happened to some people, since the foundation really blends into the skin seamlessly – this is actually the effect we love from this foundation.
BEST USE: This foundation/concealer is not your regular product that you can use in 5 minutes and just walk out the door. In time, when you get more experienced with it, yes, but often times you just need to be patient and work on the application of the product. As a foundation, use it by applying very very small dots of the product and dab it into the skin. After that, perfect it by blending it with a buffing brush. Work in sections and layers so you don’t waste the product.
If you try to blend it with a damp beauty blender it might not last long enough on the skin later in the day. The beauty blender may break the product since it is oil-based. Your warm finger tips and a buffing brush can work best with it. However, do try it on your skin since it is not a problem for some people and the application does get easier that way.
In general, the product can give you a dewy finish, or a matte one, depending on the way you apply it. That is the beauty of it and a big reason why makeup artists appreciate it so so much. If you want to make it work, try it out in many different ways and achieve a flawless complexion yourself.
