Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Review: Foundation for Bridal Makeup that looks like Second skin and gives a Matte finish
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation is a staple product for a makeup routine that needs to last through a lot of daily challenges.
This is why I would absolutely recommend it for bridal makeup or for weddings in general.
Keep reading to find out why consumers love it so much.
General info – What is it?
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation is a cult favourite for a lot of people including makeup artists. There are several reasons why this is the case with this foundation. It is oil-free and it contains an SPF 15.
The foundation is not going to crease or get cakey. It is transfer-free and it is non-comedogenic. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Is Lancôme Teint Idole full coverage?
This is a long lasting foundation and it gives a flawless matte finish with a medium to full coverage.
You can definitely build it up to achieve the full coverage look. Just apply it in thin layers and reapply where you think is necessary.
How do you apply Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra wear?
- Apply it with a brush first for better coverage and then blend it in with a sponge if necessary.
- Do downward strokes with a brush so the foundation doesn’t end up hugging your fine facial hair if you have any.
- Apply it in thin layers and reapply if necessary.
- Depending on your skin type, you can set it or wear it alone.

For most people with regular redness and skin imperfections, you don’t need to put on a lot.
People with acne can definitely use it to cover everything up, but maybe apply a second layer on critical parts of the face.
People love to wear it throughout the day even if it gets a bit shiny or dry, since the face in general looks fresh and radiant.
The foundation hides all the tiredness that we get from daily work.
This also applies for a stressful day full of activities such as a wedding day.
PRO TIP: The finish of Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation is stunning and radiant, even though it’s matte and long lasting.
This is why I prefer to apply it in a thin layer on the entire face and then just spot-conceal with your favourite concealer (like this one).
This way you get that flawless complexion.
Is the Lancôme foundation good for Weddings or Special events?
It doesn’t transfer, which is great if you are hugging a lot of people – this is why I love it for brides.
Everybody wants to congratulate you on your special day. You can feel safe knowing that you will not mess up your makeup or someone else’s outfit 🙂
Is Lancôme Teint Idole good for Dry skin?
For dry skin, use a moisturiser before applying the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation and a moisturising primer, since this foundation really tries to control oils from the skin, so it tends to get drier during the day.
Both are also oil-free, so they will work well with this foundation.
What primer to use with Lancôme Teint Idole?
Some people complained that this foundation made their skin tighter later throughout the day.
The Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer is amazing with it. The Hydrating Face Primer by E.L.F. as a cheaper alternative, is also beautiful.
Just try to use skin care that gets absorbed into the skin and nourishes it, rather than the one that just sits on top.
Add primer as well to prepare the skin even more.
Is Lancôme Teint Idole good for Mature skin?
Lancome Teint Idole is good for mature skin since it smoothes out the skin and it doesn’t crease or cake up.
I recommend this primer for mature skin.
Just like for dry skin, prep the skin really well, apply a thin layer and you will be good to go!
Is Lancôme Teint Idole good for Oily skin?
It is amazing for oily skin. Always set your Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation in case you have super oily skin or set the areas that get oily if you have combination skin.
This will not only help to make it last from morning to night, but it will also provide an even smoother finish.
If you have oily skin, but don’t mind a bit of a glow, you don’t need to set it. Otherwise, just put the tiniest amount of setting powder on the most critical parts of the face.
This is what I love about it. I have tried it and it happens to give a little glow in the afternoon, but still doesn’t look greasy and bad when applied on oily skin.
Does it contain fragrance?
Lanocme teint idole does not contain fragrance. This is great news for people with skin sensitive to fragrance.
Does it contain alcohol?
Considering the alcohol part, as it seems, some shades of Lancome teint idole are alcohol free, and some shades do have alcohol denat in them. This is information shared on the official Lancome website.
I am not sure why they did it this way, maybe the formula demanded it due to different pigments, but just in case, it’s good to know.
Here is the ingredients list:

What is the difference between Lancôme Teint Idole and Teint Miracle?
These two are different foundations. The Teint Idole one is long lasting and mattifying.
The Teint Miracle is a dewy and glowy foundation that doesn’t last more than 12 hours.
It gives a different feeling. People with very dry skin might love it more for everyday use.
Also, it gives great coverage as well as the Teint Idole foundation.
Does Lancôme Teint Idole oxidize?
For some people, it seems like it does oxidise. The reason for this could be that there are too many oils on your skin that make it cling onto them and get a bit darker.
To prevent it from oxidising let it sit a bit on the back of your hand and warm up. This will also help you to find your perfect shade.
How do I choose a Lancôme foundation shade?
The shade range of this foundation is out of this world. It comes in 50 diverse shades that are actually spot on, from extra pale skin to deep rich tones.
Makeup artists, myself included, love it since it’s easy to find a matching shade for so many different people.
Follow these steps:
1. Use the Colour wheel from Lancome
2. Find your shade intensity from 1 being Fair, to 5 being Deep
3. Find your undertone: Cool, Neutral or Warm
Is Lancôme Teint Idole silicone based?
Lancome Teint Idole is silicone based. This is why people with oily skin love it, since it helps prevent the skin from looking too oily throughout the day.
This can be good news, since the silicones help other properties penetrate the skin.
For this reason, use a nourishing and hydrating moisturiser and primer before you apply it. Your skin will love it!
Is it worth the money?
I would say, although it’s pricey, it is very much worth the money.
Not only does it come in a beautiful glass bottle, its formula is amazing. It comes in so many shades that are great because the shades are actually true to skin colour.
They have really nailed the colours to be very natural to human pigment. The undertones are spot on.
This foundation is a bit pricey, so maybe test it out first and see how you like it. I will say that you actually don’t need a lot and it can last a long time.
I’m so picky when it comes to foundations. I don’t like the orange look, I hate feeling cakey and my skin type is dry and sensitive. So this foundation is unbelievable! I recommend it to everyone! It’s light weight, full coverage, nongreasy, and it blends so good! It is a bit pricey, but It is worth every penny.

I have very very very oily skin. I’ve searched for 3 years trying to find a foundation that doesn’t melt, make me break out, or start to break up all over my face. Usually after a couple hours my foundation is sliding off my face. This foundation though is no match for my oily skin. This dries and stays all day, doesn’t transfer, and doesn’t cake. It has no smell so it won’t give you headaches. It does oxidize a tiny little bit, but I really can’t complain with all its benefits. If your hesitant don’t be. This is my holy grail foundation.
- Easy to apply
- Velvety finish
- Long lasting
- Blends easily
- Shade range
Conclusion | Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation is a friend in need for so many different skin types.
It is a long lasting foundation with a matte finish, so a lot of people with oily skin will really appreciate it.
That being said, it can still be used for dry or combination skin.
With a bit of a different approach, just like with any other product, this can easily become your holy grail.
